REAL ESTATE - LISTING
by Taner Korkmaz
Rumson, which was founded on the lands that European settlers bought from local Lenape Native Americans in exchange for rum, is one of the regions where wealthy New Yorkers prefer to invest in real estate today. Rumson, previously known as Black Point, Oceanic, and Port Washington, draws attention with its luxury real estate market.
Iconic with 19th-century mansions on the banks of the Navesink and Shrewsbury rivers, Rumson was formerly the preferred summer residence of wealthy New York bankers and businessmen. Today, it is a place that is always alive, thanks to those who choose to live in this borough all year round.
The oldest part of Tredwell House, which is considered to be Rumson's oldest house, was built in 1670. One of Rumson's best-known homes, The Lauriston Mansion, built in 1870, was also listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
One of the best examples of the high quality of life for those who choose to live in Rumson is The Seabright Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club. Established in 1877, this club is the oldest continuously active tennis club in the United States.
You can find luxury properties in both contemporary and classical design at Rumson, which offers a very ideal environment for those who want to lead a quiet and calm life.
