As you watch the incredible performances of ballet and ballerinas on the stage, all of the rest is suddenly erased. But let's not forget that they also have equipment that helps them in these performances. Rose Repetto's journey began in 1947 with the advice of her son Roland Petit. Repetto began as a small workshop near the National Opera of Paris and soon became the choice of famous ballet and ballerinas.
The unique sewing technique developed by Rose Repetto has made Repetto dance shoes more durable and long-lasting. This enabled the Repetto brand to gain worldwide recognition rapidly. This 'stitch and return' technique is still the basis of the production technique of today's Repetto shoes.
The success in the production of ballet shoes paved the way for the brand to produce dance and fashional shoes that inspired the ballet shoes. At the request of Brigitte Bardot, Rose Repetto designed the 'Cendrillon' ballerina, which famous actress wore in the 'Et Dieu ... créa la femme' film.
Rose Repetto opened her first boutique in 1959 on Rue de la Paix, a famous fashion street in Paris, and became a haunt of the legends of the ballet world. For over 70 years, Repetto has been offering shoes and garments that most prima ballerinas have preferred throughout their careers.
Repetto Paris's famous logo was designed in 1964 by the world-famous surrealist designer Leonor Fini. The brand, which started to establish a much closer relationship with the fashion world, began to work with Serge Gainsbourg as brand ambassador in the 1970s. Rose Repetto designed the 'Zizi' shoe model, and the famous singer and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg made this shoe model one of the fashion world icons.
Repetto started to expand its shoe range after successes and over the years cooperated with many fashion designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Issey Miyake, and Yohji Yamamoto and increased the number of designer shoes in its collection. Recognizing that the quality of its shoes can only be sustained by the efforts of good craftsmen, Repetto has opened a school to educate its craftsmen. Each of Repetto's employees can be seated in production areas after completing their training and learning the stitch and return technique.
Repetto offers shoes, bags, and athleisure collections for women, men, and kids. And, of course, dance shoes and garments are part of the brand's tradition and still maintain its quality and popularity. Inspired by dance shoes, Repetto shoes are available in many styles, including ballerinas, pumps, sandals, loafers, wedding shoes, sneakers, and boots.
We have selected some of the most attractive models from the collections designed by Repetto and listed them for you. Repetto is one of the brands that has managed to create its own customer base with its product variety and designs.
