Kate Mara's first acting experience was in a school musical at the age of nine. Kate Mara, who was intertwined with theater during her school years, decided to follow her passion for acting. She was accepted to the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, but deferred her enrollment in order to start her acting career earlier.
One of Kate Mara's great-grandfathers was the founder of the New York Giants, and another great-grandfather was the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And both of these NFL teams have been family-owned since their inception. Many family members such as Kate Mara's father, uncle and cousins serve as CEOs and executives of the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kate Mara has determined a completely different career path for herself. Her achievements also inspired her sister, Rooney Mara.
