Maika Monroe was born to sign language interpreter and builder parents. Changing her name from Dillon Monroe Buckley, Maika Monroe followed her passion for kiteboarding and left her native Santa Barbara at the age of 17 to pursue a professional kiteboarding career.
Maika Monroe started her acting career in 2009 with a one-episode role in the TV series “Eleventh Hour”.
