Having studied dance at the ballet academy, Mads Mikkelsen has a dance career of nearly ten years. And then he ended his dance career in 1996 to study acting.
Mads Mikkelsen, who made his debut in 1996 with the short film “Blomsterfangen”, played the character of Tonny in his first feature film “Pusher” the same year. This performance made the actor famous in Denmark.
Mads Mikkelsen received great acclaim for his performance in the movie “Bleeder” in 1999. He won awards at national and international film festivals for his performance in the 2002 movie “Open Hearts”.
Mads Mikkelsen played the character of Allan Fischer in 32 episodes of the TV series “Rejseholdet” from 2000 to 2004.
