The Whitley, which is owned by Host Hotels & Resorts and is part of a Luxury Collection Hotel, is among the country's most luxurious hotels. With multi-million-dollar transformation, it is expected to consolidate its place.
Many redesigning and remodeling works have been done in The Whitley's renovation. Among them, redesign of all 507 guest rooms including 56 unique suites, the reception and lobby areas remodeled to reflect the traditional Southern front porch, and a 5,000-square-foot Legacy Ballroom added. In addition to these architectural and design changes, the Trade Root Restaurant and Lounge has been renovated and the menus updated to include Southern-inspired meals and handmade cocktails. The Spa was one of the departments that redesigned in this renovation work, and the dressing area expanded.
The Whitley is located in Atlanta's coveted Buckhead neighborhood. Buckhead is an attraction point that offers world-class shopping, art galleries, and live performances in Atlanta. Its location is one of the features that make The Whitley special.
The Whitley welcomes its guests with Southern hospitality. It has a variety of spaces for guests to spend time reading or chatting. Some of these spaces are the Hearth Lounge, the Front Porch Lounge, the Explorers Library, and the Sanctuary Lounge.
The Whitley's re-creation process was directed by Parker-Torres Design, Inc., a Boston-based interior design firm. In the project, the most suitable materials which can be used without disrupting the historical texture of the hotel were taken into consideration. In the design of the guestrooms and spaces, design furniture and accessories, and artworks of local artists were used.
The Whitley maintains its importance in terms of organizing meetings and events, and the 5,000 square foot Legacy Ballroom is a new solution for people who need different sizes of spaces. The existing 40,000 square-foot ballroom is among the renewed areas.
Led by Executive Chef Marc Suennemann, Trade Root Restaurant and Lounge offers guests the taste of the Southern cuisine. Prefers on the use of seasonal and local ingredients, Executive Chef Marc Suennemann combines the Southern culinary culture and creativity.
The Whitley joined Marriott International's The Luxury Brand Portfolio and became the newest member of the collection that has over a hundred luxury hotels and resorts worldwide.
