On June 12, 1991, the Russian parliament formally declared Russian sovereignty, and this makes 12th of June special for Russia. Since 1992, June 12 is celebrated every year as a national holiday.
It is possible to experience the national day in celebrations throughout the country, especially in spectacular shows in big cities. Concerts, events, and fireworks make the celebration of the Russian Day dazzling.
Doodle, designed as a stance of respect for Russia Day, is the work of St Petersburg-based artists Anya and Varya Kendel.
Anya and Varya Kendel blended the red, white, and blue national flag, adopted on this national day, with the natural landscapes of Russia. Mount Elbrus, the Klyuchevskaya volcano, Lake Baikal, and Shamanka Rock are in the details of this Doodle.
