The Czech carmaker has announced that it plans to modernize all aspects of the brand's design. As the first stage of this, ŠKODA adopted emerald and electric green as the new color duo that will form the brand's identity, and built its new logo and brand identity on these two colors.
The change isn't just about the new logo design and new colors. ŠKODA also takes an innovative approach to how the logo is used. The brand no longer plans to use the ŠKODA name and traditional winged arrow too much side by side. The typographic logo, which stands out with its symmetrical structure and modern lines, will now be used not only on the rear of the cars, but also on the front. We will now see this new typographic logo alone more often.
The change in the winged arrow symbol is more limited. However, the 3D plastic effect is no longer a feature of the logo, the logo is now flat. The winged arrow, which has become simpler and two-dimensional, is now much more compatible with the design approach of ŠKODA's future models.
ŠKODA has chosen to use two shades of green, which prioritizes the concept of sustainable environment in its colors. The fact that these two colors were associated with ecology, sustainability and electromobility by the people who saw them in the researches was the primary reason why ŠKODA preferred these two colors. With these choices, ŠKODA has made a future-oriented move in the electrified automobile industry.
In the process of designing the new brand identity, which took more than a year, 165 different ideas emerged, and among these, this combination, which was considered to reflect innovation, simplicity and sustainability, was adopted. From now on, we will see the new generation of ŠKODA branded cars with this logo on them.
