La Pimienta Solar Plant, which has been fully operational by Atlas Renewable Energy, is planned to produce 789 GWh of energy annually. Under the agreement reached with the Federal Electric Commission, La Pimienta Solar Plant will supply clean energy to the state-owned utility for the next 15 years.
Atlas Renewable Energy's La Pimienta Solar Plant is located in Campeche, Mexico. The project, which consists of more than one million solar panels, is built on 651 hectares of land and will meet the energy needs of approximately 300,000 homes.
Atlas Renewable Energy officials stated that more than 1,000 jobs were created in the construction of La Pimienta Solar Plant, most of which were hired using local resources. Atlas Renewable Energy Mexico General Manager Camilo Serrano said that the project will make a great contribution to the region both economically and in terms of protecting the ecosystem.
Developing clean energy projects since 2017, Atlas Renewable Energy will contribute to avoiding more than 1.7 million tons of CO2 emissions with La Pimienta Solar Plant. La Pimienta Solar Plant became the second largest solar farm in Mexico.
