Investing in skin adhesion science for 55 years and responding to the different needs of the industry, 3M introduced its newly developed Medical Tape 4578 medical adhesive and announced that it has increased the adherence time from 14 days to 28 days.
Medical adhesives, one of the products that best show the contributions of different industries to each other, allow medical monitors and sensors such as glucose and heart monitors to be wearable. 3M has been developing these medical adhesives for more than half a century. 3M Medical Tape 4578 will stay attached to the skin for up to 28 days, thus reducing the operating costs of wearable medical devices and enabling longer and more precise measurements and monitoring.
Stating that the standard wear time for extended medical adhesives has been accepted as 14 days until now, 3M is extending this period up to 28 days with its new product, Medical Tape 4578. 3M's officials stated that they managed to double the standard time without compromising skin health, and that they would develop new technologies with the awareness that wearable medical products have an important place in the future of health services.
