Almost a century has passed since Oskar Barnack invented the first 35mm camera in 1924 and named it Leica. Today, Leica is the only company producing 35mm analog rangefinder cameras, continuing the tradition. The Leica M6, the first version of which was offered for sale in 1984, was renewed and offered for sale again.

Featuring the red Leitz logo as in the original version, the new Leica M6 is designed for young photographers and professionals committed to creative photography. The Leica M6 has been recreated as an improved version. During this development process, the optical surfaces were coated, the light meter was updated, the battery warning indicator was added, and the top cover was redesigned with a new material.

Although improved with many technical changes, the Leica M6 has retained its distinctive design details and general concept, such as the slanted rewind crank for the film. Handmade in Germany, the Leica M6 can be considered the guardian of 35mm analog photography.
